Baroque on Beaver, a classical music festival held on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan, is a presentation of the Beaver Island Cultural Arts Association.
History
In July 2002, a small group of musicians gathered in the log cabin chapel of St. James Episcopal Mission to perform the music of J.S. Bach. Now, more than sixty musicians from all parts of Michigan are again gathered to participate in a festival week that includes performances by soloists, small ensembles, a Chamber Chorale, the Festival Chorus and a full orchestra!
With the support of the Michigan Council of Arts and Cultural Affairs in partnership with the Cheboygan Area Arts Council, the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, TDS and the Beaver Island Boat Co., the non-profit Beaver Island Cultural Arts Association is pleased to continue this tradition. Most importantly, none of this would be possible without generous donations from private donors, local businesses and the overwhelming support of the entire Beaver Island community!
