What are your most important educational and musical moments?
I toured with the Joffrey Ballet and spent a week playing Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet at the Lincoln Center.

Tell us about your family.
We are a family of creatives, making a happy and honest living playing music.  My husband plays the bassoon.

Why did you choose music?
I couldn’t think of any other career that would enable me to play the oboe all day long.

Why did you choose your instrument?
When I was in the fourth grade, the eighth grade band played different instruments for us.  When I heard the oboe, I knew it was clearly the voice I wanted to have.

What are you currently doing?
I play the oboe in the South Bend Symphony, teach online groups, and have a business making and selling oboe reeds.  I have a podcast called Crushing Classical,  and I have published a book, The Happiest Musician.

Any non-musical interests or hobbies?
For fun I run and read Tarot cards.
