Lois Stipp – Board Member
Lois Stipp is a 5th generation Beaver Island resident. A former registered nurse and nursing supervisor/educator, she currently owns the Beaver Island Gallery which showcases painting, pottery, photography, quilts, jewelry and other artifacts by area artists.
For fifteen years, Lois served at President of a non-profit arts council in Southern California which housed and managed two galleries, a theater and musical concerts, while also serving as the homebase for many other groups and activities. The arts council also partnered with two local school districts, providing after school education in music and the visual arts. As a non-profit leader, Lois worked closely with city government on arts management and development.
Besides serving on the board of the Beaver Island Performing Arts Alliance, Lois is vice president of the Beaver Island Community Center, a board member of the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce and, for the past 35 years, manager of the Museum Week Art Show for the Historical Society.
